objc.io's App Architecture Book

The fantastic folks over at objc.io are almost done with their book on iOS App Architecture. I got the early access program and must say that the book is shaping up to be really interesting. Last week they released the videos accompanying the book, that you get access to if you pay a little extra. I’ve watched a few of them so far and they’re really, really great. Highly recommended for anyone who does iOS programming.

I also need to practice patience. Most posts that I write on this blog are posted within minutes after being “done”. That’s not what I should do. Letting a post simmer for a day or two would probably improve overall quality and help me make my points more succinctly.

Kneejerk Opinions

I was going to link to this back when I heard it. But the episode had some propagation issues and I promptly forgot about it. Anyway, I got reminded about it today when talking to my mom. You really owe it to yourself to listen to this episode of The Menu Bar, Going Where the Conversation Isn’t. It’s an interview with Robin Hanson where they talk about the hidden motives behind our actions as human beings.

I rarely hear iOS devs talk about state restoration. It is such an undervalued feature for the development process. Being able to build and run and directly be at the view, configured for the right state, I need to test is ace.

Removed Google Analytics from the blog. I do care about your privacy and not so much about the stats. I’m still using Google Fonts, which I assume is equally as bad. I’ll get around to that.
